Community Water Grant Water Saving Schools We have prepared grant applications for Central Coast schools for both Rounds 1 and 2 and have assisted 6 schools directly to win grants. We have also provided advice and information to many other schools. We encourage active decision-making from the schools in the preparation of the grant and installation of water saving devices. We also assist with promotion and monitoring, by organising measuring devices, providing assistance with implementation of educational water saving activities and community involvement and communications. We have installed (or are currently installing) water saving devices at the following schools:
By installing a range of water saving and storage devices, these schools have saved a combined total of nearly 1.8ML of water per year, which is almost 2 Olympic size swimming pools of water every year. These schools have appreciated our project management of the installation, which in many cases has enabled construction to occur during school holiday times. They have also been able to participate in tank location and type selections and the type of promotional and monitoring assistance they feel best suits the needs of their individual school. All tank configurations have been developed particularly for schools, with safety fencing, ability of children to monitor tank volumes and anti-vandalism measures considered in all installations.
